Read The New York Times and other newspapers online with your Minor Memorial Library Card!

The New York Times

The Minor Memorial Library offers all patrons complimentary and unlimited access to everything The New York Times has to offer.  Access all of The Times — including News, Games, Cooking, Audio, Wirecutter, The Athletic and all apps — from anywhere by following the instructions below:

At the Library

  1. Ensure you are using the library’s Wi-Fi connection. Visit nytimes.com using any device. 
  2. Go to the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Click on “Log in” to create a free account or log in to your existing account.
  3. You now have full access to all news journalism on nytimes.com while logged in at the library. The New York Times app and select games including The Mini, Tiles, Letterboxed and the Games archive are not included as part of the onsite experience. You may follow the instructions below to access The New York Times apps. 

At Home or On the Go

  1. Click the button to verify your library card number and receive an access link. Be sure to bookmark this access link for future use.
  2. Create a new NYT account or log in with an existing NYT account. If your information is entered correctly, you’ll see a confirmation screen. You have now activated a digital pass and will have access to The New York Times for 24 hours. 
  3. Once your digital pass expires, simply click the access link and log in with your NYT account again to redeem another digital pass.

Note:

  • If you lose the access link, come back to this page to verify your library card number and receive a new access link. You do not need to create a new NYT account each time.
  • Users are not permitted to share the sign-on credentials with any other person whatsoever. 

Your Minor Memorial Library card also grants access to current and historic newspapers through the Connecticut State Library! Visit the ResearchIT CT website to read past and current issues of the Chicago Tribune, Hartford Courant, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, and other US Major Dailies.
