The Hudson River School

March 2, 2022 @ 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

The Wadsworth Atheneum has one of the largest collections of Hudson River School paintings, including over 65 works by the movement’s noteworthy artists such as Thomas Cole, Frederic Edwin Church and Albert Bierstadt. The collection was formed by the museum’s founder Daniel Wadsworth, along with Elizabeth Colt and other 19th century art patrons who collected and commissioned works directly from the artists.

Join Art Historians Carol Urick and Ernesto Gutierrez-Miravete from the Wadsworth Atheneum  for a virtual live tour.

Local art aficionados might enjoy hearing this talk and then seeing the exhibition “Poetry of Nature”, currently on view at the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT.

Roxbury Library card holders can check out museum passes visit both the Wadsworth and the New Britain museum.
