Ghost Writer – Live Play Reading

February 4 @ 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Free

AT THE HODGE LIBRARY ( 4 North St.)

Set in New York City, in 1919. While dictating a novel to his typewriter-girl, Myra, bestselling author Franklin Woolsey collapses and dies in mid-sentence. But Myra keeps typing. Is she a clever forger trying to steal the author’s legacy? Or is Woolsey still dictating from the Great Beyond?

Critics have called GHOST-WRITER “Tantalizing, understated, and lovely.” (Wall Street Journal); “A love story of the utmost restraint.” (Philadelphia Inquirer).  The Broward-Palm Beach News-Times observes: “Between the rat-a-tat-tat of the typewriter…and debates over syntax and punctuation, there lies a deep understanding of an author’s mind, the cerebral nuts and bolts that coalesce into what we call writing, ghostly or otherwise.”

The cast includes Ann Kinner, Deborah Carlson*, and Rob Pawlikowski.

Seating is limited. Please RSVP.

Ann Kinner has performed in NYC and around the state in regional theatres, including Square One Theatre in Stratford, where she received two Square One Subscriber’s awards, including Outstanding Actress. Her television credits include a six-year recurring role as the Roadside Bar waitress on All My Children. Film credits include the lead role in the independent film Doing Agatha, and small roles in feature films including Camp Hell, All Good Things, Across the Universe, and Revolutionary Road.

Rob lives in Roxbury.

Deborah Carlson* has performed On and Off Broadway, in national tours, regional theater and television and film for over 40 years. She recently appeared in Doors by Serena Noor at the SPF NYC 2022, and played Eleanor in The Lion In Winter (Wilton Playshop), The Chorus in Antigone (Carriage House Arts Center), and Helen in The Road To Mecca (Westport Community Theatre).
