Collector Mark Cohagen will present his beautiful collection of historic antique maps in the exhibit “My Head Is a Map”.

Ever since his childhood fascination with Robert Louis Stevenson’s map of Treasure Island, Cohagen has admired the art and the historical importance of maps.  He has been particularly interested in the Nordic countries and the maps that are part of this exhibit are actually his second collection; his first was acquired by the Government of Iceland.

More than 40 maps, spanning 400 years, will be on exhibit.  Town plans and curiosities, along with maps of special historical interest, such as Bunting’s map of Saint Paul’s journey to Rome and a portion of a Roman road map, are highlights of the show.
