“Prints: Unique and Multiple”

Curated by Anthony Kirk

Dec. 13, 2025 – Jan. 24, 2026

“Prints: Unique & Multiple” includes the work of fifty artists selected by Kirk because of his close collaboration with each of them, whether as a master printer or teacher. In his role as a printer Kirk has editioned the graphic work of leading American artists such as Nina Jordan, Wolf Kahn, Robert Kipniss, Kiki Smith, Donald Sultan, Altoon Sultan, and Katia Santiban᷉ez. Their work is not only included in this exhibition but is also included in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the Museum of Modern Art, and the New York Public Library.

For fifty years Kirk has taught printmaking at institutions in New York and Connecticut, and the emerging artists who have studied with him will have their unique monotypes, woodcuts, aquatints, etchings and engravings in this exhibition. These artists have studied with him at Robert Blackburn’s Printmaking Workshop and Manhattan Graphics Center in New York as well as Five Points Art Center, Torrington, Washington Art Association, Ridgefield Guild of Artists and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk, in CT. For this exhibition Kirk has cast a wide net to also include artists from his workshops at the Woodstock School of Art and SUNY, New Paltz, NY.

From the time of the old masters and throughout the history of art artists have turned to printmaking to depict the genres of portrait, still life, landscape, abstraction, and the political, and these contemporary concerns are now on view in “Prints: Unique & Multiple”.
