The Friends of the Roxbury Library was founded in 1989 to support and promote library services and activities. The Friends raise money to supplement the library budget through a yearly membership campaign and special events, such as the book sale that takes place each June.
While the Library Board of Trustees maintains the library building and staffing, the Friends provide the library with books, DVDs, audio books, e-books, museum passes, hospitality for the art show receptions, and funding for children’s and adult programs. The Friends also publish the “Bookmark” newsletter, which is mailed to all Roxbury residents. Indeed, our “Friends” help make our library a special place.
